About Us

I have three decades of experience in business, including owning and running small businesses. My education career in teaching high school science encompassed developing and implementing a volunteer student organization to do green campus work, fund raising, and field trips.

I have trained K12 teachers in using technology as part of National Science Foundation (NSF) projects that included conducting research around using technology in classrooms for learning.

I have successfully networked with community organizations and businesses to raise money for class projects and school clubs.
In the process of getting my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction I required some serious depth to understand the scope, foundation, and driving forces of K12 education since I was coming from 25 years of business. I had a difficult time finding the ed research I needed. After completing my Master's I moved forward with building and opening a free ed research portal to K12 info....reports, trends, and news (www.educationreporting.com).

As a high school science teacher I was always looking for resources to hone my teaching skills and deliver lessons that were engaging and relevant, which are the only two qualities that capture the interest of the digital kids in school today. Again, I had a difficult time sorting through stuff on the web to get what I needed - cause I hate teaching from a text book. I enjoy using project based learning and service based learning with learners. So, I created Ed Tools Directory to house the nuggets I found. Today I'm expanding that free directory to include hundreds of quality, 21st century K12 education resources - a treasure box of lesson enhancing gems. (www.edtoolsdirectory.com)

I look forward to hearing your thought and ideas about how I can improve this service for K12 educators.

Wishing you the best, Steu (top of page)
